Moist Chocolate Balls

Moist Chocolate Balls Moist Chocolate Balls is my favorite chocolate recipe, even though it’s not a moist chocolate cake. My mom used to do them when I was a little girl and still make them when we come to visit her with my kids and this has always been our favorite treat. What I love about this recipe is that it is really healthier that most of the cakes or anything you can buy at a grocery store. The preparation is very easy and does not even involve baking (the part which is commonly the major challenge for mist beginners). And the result is always perfect. The only disadvantage of my Moist Chocolate Balls is that you just can’t stop eating them!

8 servings.

  • warm water: 1 1/3 cup
  • sugar: 1 cup (preferably brown)
  • cocoa powder: 1.5 cup
  • butter: 5 ounces
  • milk power (fat option) or rice flour (1ess fat option): 1 cup
  • nuts: 2-3 ounces (any nuts, peanuts are also good)

  • saucepan
  • electric mixer

  • Warm the butter to make it soft (but don’t let it melt!)
  • Pour the water into the saucepan and put it on slow fire
  • Put the sugar into the water, keep stirring as the sugar dissolves
  • Take the saucepan off the stove and cool a bit (but keep it warm)
  • Add 1 cup of cocoa power and mix well until smooth
  • Add the butter and mix in well until smooth
  • Add the milk power or rice flour and mix well until smooth. At this point the paste will be quite thick, that’s normal.
  • Roll the balls 1-1.5’’ in diameter (or make any other shape)
  • Dust the balls with the remaining cocoa power
  • Put in the fridge to make them hard

Alternatibely, you can dust the rolls in coconut crumble instead of cocoa powder. However, I prefer the first option - it gives a very special home-made touch to my balls. The water-sugar-cocoa-butter-milk(rice)powder pasta is the basis of tthe rolls. You may add just anything you wish - nuts, dried fruit, etc.
